Step 1: Export your Intercom data
Help Center articles
- In Intercom, go to Articles
- Export to CSV or copy manually
- Expected format:
Saved replies
- Settings > Saved replies
- Export or copy each reply
Step 2: Create your Animam account
- Sign up at animam.ai
- Create your first tenant
- Note your slug (e.g.,
my-company)
Step 3: Import content
Via the dashboard
- Dashboard > Knowledge Base > Import
- Upload your CSV
- Map columns:
title→ Titlecontent→ Contentcategory→ Segment
Via the API
Step 4: Configure personality
Replicate your Intercom bot’s tone:- Dashboard > Settings > Personality
- Configure:
- Bot name
- Tone (professional, casual)
- Formality
- Welcome message
Step 5: Replace the widget
Remove Intercom
Remove the Intercom code from your site:Add Animam
Step 6: Test
- Refresh your site
- Verify the Animam widget appears
- Test your users’ frequent questions
- Adjust corpus as needed

Are historical conversations imported?
No, conversations stay in Intercom. Animam starts with a clean history.Can I use both in parallel?
Technically yes, but not recommended (user confusion). Prefer a clean switch.Can my support team intervene?
Currently, Animam is 100% AI. Human handoff is planned for a future version.What about Intercom custom bots/workflows?
